weekends are so precious for every OL who's working 5 day week, so I will always try to pack it with activities and go out to play!
how I spent my last four weekends:
26 May
finally tried tori king keisuke ramen at 100AM. the chicken drumstick always look so appetizing in photos but I was pretty disappointed after trying :(
the chicken meat was too rough for a drumstick, it tasted like breast meat lor. Very sad, I expected it to be tender. the soup base is also too viscous for my liking, prefer my soup to be less viscous. I will prefer keisuke tonkotsu king over tori king keisuke but my favourite ramen is still santouka ramen @ cuppage! still the best ramen I've eaten! in Singapore that is, Ichiran ramen in Tokyo is a totally different league =p but that's another story for another day
met up with lianny after ramen dinner to put our evil plan in action. say hello to the twinnies, Johnson and Dayne!
lianny and I got the same tee for the guys while we were in Tokyo and devised a plan to let them wear the same tee out without them knowing =p and the story goes like this:
bf wore this tee to my house on that fateful day and I was thinking to myself, omg today is the day we girls can execute our evil plan. SMS-ed the BFF and ask her to get Dayne to wear this tee as well for our meetup later that night. went out with the bf innocently after that, but I can't help giggling everytime I look at his tee or when I am messaging the BFF to get latest update on whether she managed to get Dayne to wear the tee. bf noticed and was asking me throughout the day what I am giggling at. almost let the cat out of the bag haha
imagine the guys' stunned look when we finally met up with each other, EPIC!
coincidentally, they were both wearing berms, loafers and carrying an iPad which makes the whole thing even more corny hahaha. we totally didn't arrange the berms loafers and ipad lor, some chemistry they have ;)
tried out play nation @ scape, played Kinect and wii games like raving rabbids and dance central. the dancing part was funny la, I thought it's slack dancing game but actually really will sweat one. can it be a replacement for exercise? lol
1 June/2 June
switch on a Friday after dinner @ p.s café. truffle fries craving satisfied!
JB on sunday to pump petrol, I also did a gelish classic mani and pedi @ KSL mall for only sgd$70, both are 2-tone somemore. #whysocheapcomparedtosingapore lavender for the fingers and blue for the toes, super love the bling-ness =D
after doing nails and shopping, it's zi char for dinner again!
stuck in a jam on the way back and only reached home 1am with next day a working day o_O told ourselves to avoid going JB on Sunday next time lol.
8 June/9 June
JB on a Saturday for this week, thought we can avoid the Sunday jam but no difference lehhh. explored a different shopping centre this time round, went to City Square Mall instead of KSL.
had our dinner at Canton-I. food is relatively good, worth trying.
we wanted to catch a movie and City Sq JB have Cathay cinemas woo! bought tix for "Now You See Me", the tix price is half of SG movie tix lor, not fair sia.
RM13 for weekend show and couple seat, that's about SGD$5.30 only #howcan. weekend non-couple seat even cheaper, RM12 nia. SG weekend tix with credit card promo or Passion card is at least $9.50 so JB price is very cheap!!!
the movie was awesome! very entertaining with all the "magic" performances and mind blown at the end. love it! and isla fisher is sooo pretty, haven seen her in movies much ever since the Shopaholic movie.
went for massage after movie, chose Thai massage and can hear my bones cracking lol. decided that we are hungry after massage and went for wanton mee supper at 4am, sinful max.
can you imagine as we head back to SG at 430am, there is still a jam at customs o_O so so so sleepy while stuck in the jam but poor baby still gotta drive so I try to stay awake and talk to him to keep him awake lol. felt like my eyes needed toothpicks to keep them open =p
reached home 6 plus and only slept at 7am, cui. been some time since I stayed up so late, now old liao, body cannot take it haha.
15 June/16 June
the legendary closing-down-soon braised duck rice. my 1st time eating here, I really didn't know it existed until recently when news of it closing emerged. the duck is sooo soft and the kang kong is really good as well. yummy yummy.
Lim Seng Lee Duck Rice Eating House
38 South Buona Vista Road
Opening Hours: Tue - Sat 10.30am to 8.30pm
after duck rice, it's JB again! exchange rate is really good now at 2.47 and still going up. watched man of steel since it's the blockbuster of the week. went for wanton mee and lok lok supper before heading back to SG, at this rate we gonna grow fat.
thinking of venturing out of City Sq and KSL this coming weekend, maybe Sutera Mall or Tebrau City! can't wait for this weekend to come! new motto in life - work hard during weekdays, play harder during weekends. :)

.::Shanghai and Bangkok::.
haven been blogging for super long!
April and May had been a whirlwind. went on 3 trips and found a new job! many other good things happened as well, baby bought his 1st car and relationship-wise, he had been extra nice and supportive towards me recently. for all this, i felt so blessed and thankful everyday. :*)
new job happened really fast, Monday interview, Tuesday offer, Wednesday tender, Thursday sign letter of offer lol. fast and furious. was sad to leave the company as I have a great boss but sadly, the company cannot offer what I need right now as a young working adult. in terms of prospects, exposure and benefits. I reckon it will be a nice place to retire though but I am not at that stage yet so leaving is essential!
travelling is always an exciting affair for me, happy to go for 3 trips in April/May as I visited 2 places that I've never been to before! Shanghai and Tokyo! last year, I set a new resolution and that is to at least visit 1 new country/city every year, year 2013 hit quota liao haha. Tokyo was a personal holiday trip with the BFF and I love Japan!!! more photos on Tokyo in the next entry as it totally deserves an entry on its own!
Shanghai was my last trip with the ex company, 4D3N and it was a sales kickoff for the new FY. did my last marketing presentation and I really put in a lot of effort preparing for it because I wanna leave on a good note. I thought that it turned out not too bad and I am quite pleased :)
flew to Shanghai on a Sunday morning so I had about half a day to explore the place on my own as official meeting starts Monday. went to Nanjing Lu for some shopping, Yuyuan Garden for some sightseeing and of course how can I miss the night scene at the Bund and Oriental Pearl Tower :)
the sweet bf woke up extra early to send me to the airport, waking up at 5am on Sunday should be banned lor, look at my tired face!
checked in to hotel at Shanghai Hong Qiao and it's beautiful, very garden feel.
weather in Shanghai was very cooling in April, about 12 - 21 deg. woo can wear trench coat haha. Spring is really becoming my favourite season to travel!
no meetings planned for day 1, washed up and went to Nanjing West Road for shopping at Han City (韩城).
took train to Yuyuan Garden in the evening, Shanghai subway is really quite efficient, although there are many lines, but the colour code makes it very easy to plan your route and roam around alone!
I love the 古色古香 architecture at the garden!
the iconic landmark in Shanghai, I told myself I must must must visit the Oriental Pearl Tower after seeing it on screen so often :)
went up the Shanghai World Financial Centre Observatory, 100 floors high! it's the highest building in Shanghai and has a very nice view of the Bund and the Oriental Pearl Tower. sadly nobody to take photos with and had to resort to 自拍 haha. made it just in time slightly before 10pm as the Bund is lights off after 10pm. I only got to see it lit for 5 minutes before it went off =p
the next 2 days were meeting and presentations before we had finale dinner cum drinks at 新天地. 新天地 is like a Shanghai version of Clarke Quay, quite happening and very popular with tourists and ang mohs! but it's also more sleazy as some of the girls will solicit there.
I actually tendered before I went to Shanghai but my ex boss said to go ahead with the trip still. so after I am back, I actually only have 2 weeks left with the company. started to handover some stuff and have all the farewell lunches. eat until I fat fat!
scheduled to start with the new company end May as I planned to take a short break and holiday in Tokyo before starting work. coincidentally, my start date coincide with my new company's kickoff date so my new boss asked me to join the 4D3N kickoff in Bangkok and there I go!
I had some free days between Tokyo and Bangkok, made full use of them to play =p
clubbing with the girls
JB trip with the bf as I wanted to try the hair salon services there and get a new colour for the hair before I start work. while waiting for me, he decided to cut his hair and was psychoed by the hairstylist to do a treatment. he so little hair, I dunno why he agreed to do treatment. lol damn cock.
our usual zi char feast whenever we go JB :)
1st day of work started at the airport, still in holiday mood haha.
stayed at Sofitel Sukhumvit Bangkok and the room is nice!!! comfy bed and spacious toilet. I like how the wardrobe has double doors and can be assessed from both the room and inside the toilet. so if I hang up my clothes from the room, I do not need to bring them in the toilet. can just open the other door from the toilet to get my clothes. super awesome idea, if only I can incorporate that concept into my house next time =p
day 1 and 4 was free and easy so I managed to do some shopping =p the hotel was a mere 5 mins walk to the new Terminal 21 shopping centre but I chose to do my shopping at Platinum Mall instead because I just love that mall.
went to the cheap and good food court at Platinum Mall. my favourite is the claypot beef noodles!
outfit for 2nd night's welcome dinner at a Thai club, Muse. the theme is gold! finally wore the Prettyfit gold wedges out for the 1st time, I bought them for 2 years already and not worn before haha terrible!
the Thai live band is good, everyone went crazy dancing o_O
ordered room service in the middle of the night just because I feel greedy and 嘴巴痒 haha!
with my boss + counterparts from Malaysia and Philippines
outfit for finale gala dinner at the hotel ballroom. theme is still gold so I had gold sequinned cuffs dress + necklace hehe. dress is from ASOS, also buy le few months but never wear before oops.
very entertaining performances put up by the various ASEAN countries. 3 out of 6 countries chose the "Gentlemen" song to perform to lol, guess that's the in thing now. they even had costumes lor, plus points for effort!
quite awhile since I last been to Bangkok, forgotten how awesome it can be! this trip rekindled my love for Bangkok haha... the weather is horrible but the shopping and food is love!
lastly, some random food pics from May! 鱼头炉 dinner at Rangoon Road! the zi char dishes are not bad also, pork ribs with 炸鱿鱼丝 and oyster omelette.
and this sums up April/May! blogging about Tokyo and Gardens by the Bay adventure next :)
