shall blog about the bangkok trip before i forget everything...

Day 1-16th Jan 2007 (Tuesday)

went to the airport in the morning around 10 plus for burger king's breakfast... just made it in time at 11am cause i waited quite sometime for a cab...

checked in after that and went around the airport to buy magazines and some other stuff...

boarded the plane and soon, it's take off time! into the clouds we go~

hehe nothing much to do in the cabin so we cam-whored

landing!

reached bangkok's new airport at around sg time 3pm... the new airport is still lacking in certain things... the trolley sucks... maybe too new or what, all the wheels stuck one... then some parts of the airport still under construction... the scaffolds are so unsightly and ugly...

took a cab to the hotel we staying in... not sure of its exact location also at first... and the taxi driver like dunno the hotel name also... so we had a hard time trying to tell him the road name where the hotel is at cause he dun understand english...

in the end, lady luck is smiling on us... cause he stopped at this shopping centre for us and just nice we found the hotel just opposite the shopping centre... so tyco! hehe...

then we went to mbk shopping centre which is just opposite the hotel for dinner around 5 plus 6pm... mbk is big! i think it's bigger than vivocity and there's 7 floors... like 2 vivocities piled on top of each other... haha...

had dunkin donuts as a snack first... can't find them in sg anymore! after eating that, stupid dearie say the donuts made his mouth itch and he wouldn't even touch them at all the next few days... but i like it so much that i ate it whenever i can...

we had dinner at oishi ramen after that... the ramen is cheap!!! it's a restaurant and yet the ramen costs only around 2-3 bucks...

we went to shop at level 1 of mbk after eating... bought some stuff and went back to hotel after that to rest awhile before heading to mbk again for bowling...

the bowling alley is SOOOO damn cool... it's all neon lights and the bowling balls and pins look luminous under the neon lights... super pretty! the music there is good too cause they have their own deejay and the music is played loud enough to create the atmosphere... there's food and alcoholic drinks served right to ur bowling lane for u... power bowling place!

i won! =) but he had his revenge in the end during the last few days... read on and u'll know how~

we ordered a tequila sunrise while bowling...

walked back to the hotel around 1 plus 2am... the hotel really quite good cause it's really just across the road and damn convenient to travel between mbk and the hotel...

bought fruits on the way back to the hotel to eat... honeydew! their fruits really damn cheap... only 40 cents for twice the serving in sg... yummy~ and for the next few days, before we head back to the hotel every night, we will definitely buy some fruits and head back to the hotel to eat... healthy! =x haha...

Day 2-17th Jan 2007 (Wednesday)

after bathing and looking toot in our specs



breakfast at mbk food court... the food there super nice la! i loveee their noodles! beef noodles, duck noodles, kway chap and fried noodles! the thai iced tea is nice also! different from singapore's iced tea...

then we took the bts skytrain to siam area... a lot of shopping malls... gaysorn, amarin and blah blah blah... think we went to big c supermarket, world trade centre, discovery centre and central world plaza... can't really remember...

had chester's grill at big c shopping centre after walking quite a bit for pitstop~ their chicken is fabulous!!! thai iced tea too!

cheap! we had 2 hot dogs, 2 chicken and 2 drinks... only $6.50

we went back hotel after that to put our shopping stuffs...

headed to suan lum night bazaar... had dinner at the food area there... damn happening! can drink beer and stuff at the food garden as they call it... got people singing on the stage for u with a live band and the lights are disco-ey... hehe... nice nice... walked around the bazaar... but we couldn't comb all of it cause there's just too many sections and too much shops in 1 section...

Day 3-18th Jan 2007 (Thursday)

breakfast at mbk food court again...

we tried this dessert, mango with glutinous rice... YUM YUM

shopping at pratunam centre, pratunam market and mbk centre...

went khao san road at night... also market style... but more for foreigners... there's a lot of clubs, pubs and restaurants there also... sorta like our clarke quay... had some drinks by the roadside... had a lot of food too... the satay there is really delicious! thinly sliced chicken, pork or beef marinated to perfection! =)

Day 4-19th Jan 2007 (Friday)

chinatown in the morning... took a cab down cause lazy to take the train le... their cab price is super affordable!

had this fishball noodles at some random shop for breakfast... nice and cheap! auntie eating fishball noodles also =p



shopped around the chinatown wholesale area for bags, shoes and stuff...

went to buy the local food specialties at this particular shop in chinatown... cause we bought at this shop last time and it's very nice! bought 2 big bags worth of food stuffs... hard to walk around in that so we took a cab back to hotel...

didn't spend much time at chinatown cause actually my main aim is just to buy the foodstuffs nia... it was quite boring to shop there cause everything wholesale one... very hard to find a shop that sells one piece for retail...

after that we went to siam paragon and the shopping centres around there... found subway at siam paragon! hehe had the oatmeal raisin cookie! tastes differently from singapore's...

next up is platinum mall which is rather new... super nice to shop here! there's air con and the clothes are cheap and fashionable... it's even cheaper if u buy 3 pieces and above in a shop... can mix and match... bought quite some stuffs here! =) mostly clothes!



headed back to hotel to put the stuffs...

went mbk eat and it's bowling again! played pool also but their pool is different as it does not go by a hourly rate but rather by per game...

had a club sandwich while playing... got trashed by dearie badly... lolz... lost form today as compared to the very 1st day... =p stupid dearie... big ego forced u to give ur best shot right... =p almost turkey somemore... bleahz!

Day 5-20th Jan 2007 (Saturday)

today is the day we had been really looking forward to! chatuchak weekend market! =) even got a map from the bookshop in bangkok specially for this... we heard that it's really messy in the sense that there are soooo many shops, streets and sections with each section selling different different categories of things... so people in the forums recommended this map by nancy chandler... it really turned out to be very useful! not sold in singapore though...

the market indeed did not disappoint... we woke up early specially for this... reached around 1o plus... ate some noodles which is quite nice...

we shopped from morning till about 6pm... stopped for chicken drumstick noodles in between... totally shagged out after that can! but we got so so so many things from there! =) happy~

the streets and sections are messy and big enough... but around 4 plus, the make shift stalls start to open on the main road making everything even more crowded and fun to shop...

took a cab back to hotel cause our hands cannot make it already from carrying so much things!!!

after that we went to arrange our stuffs at the hotel and took stupid photos... haha...

next up is dinner at mbk's bar-b-q plaza... sorta like seoul garden concept... very nice! comes in a platter... got thinly sliced chicken, pork, bacon and beef... prawns, squid and fish cake... udon... lotsa veggies, cabbage mostly... super nice!

ordered calamari squid and roast pork too... i LOVE the roast pork! so nice can! this roasted meat is the most delicious roasted meat i ever tasted so far! calamari is right beside it...

after dinner, we went to walk around siam square... i did a manicure and pedicure... only around $17... we were so impressed by their drawing of the tiny tiny flowers on the tiny tiny toenails... haha... stupid me went to cut my nails before i go overseas... so the nails look kinda stumpy and too short... sad lo! if only i nv cut!

did some more shopping around siam square area at the roadside stalls... headed back after that to pack...

fruit today is green guava... =) sweet!

spent quite some time packing... haha... all the food stuffs and the things we bought... last night already! felt rather sad lo~

Day 6-21st Jan 2007 (Sunday)

last breakfast cum lunch at mbk food court... the food there really super nice la!

went for dinner at sakae sushi at terminal 2... yummy... was so tired after dinner though... can't wait to get home and unpack...

finally reached home around 9 plus... unpacked and stuff... finally can sleep on my own bed around 1 plus... =) and that marks the end of this trip...

ah well i had fun! =)

today is dearie's passing out parade @ HTA...

went down to hta after lessons at 430pm... actually the invitation card stated that must be seated by 445pm... but when i reached around 5 plus, people were still streaming around... haha... anyway today the buses all arrived nicely the moment i reached the bus stop! no waiting time... so smooth! =)

and coincidentally, was talking with xiuling the other day cause her bf is passing out too... was saying to her maybe we have a chance to see each other at hta... turned out she was on the same bus as me to hta... haha as late as me too =p so qiao can!

the parade was dampened by the rain and discontinued towards the end...

took photos with him and his parents with him in the number 1 (the parade uniform) but blogger wouldn't let me upload photos... dunno why also~ so next time ba!

today is the 1st day of school... 8.30am stats lecture... what a way to start a monday... almost didn't wanna wake up at 5.45am today... wanted so badly to skip the lect but the other voice in my head spoke up and said it's a bad start to skip the very first lect of the sem so i went...

bad choice! learnt zilch nada zero! all introductory stuffs and things already taught before in jc... argh!!!

supposedly to have 2 more lessons till 6.30pm with some breaks in between but pon-ed all of them... so much for the other voice =x had lunch at jp mos burger with last sem's tutorial mates... so funny!

bought a korean drama dvd after that titled a wonderful life! now i got my girl, it started with a kiss and this to watch~ haha... no more boring days i guess! can't wait to finish all of them! had been hearing damn good reviews about my girl... can't wait to watch that especially! thanks nana! =)

blog about yesterday first...

wanted to go to tamp early morning for breakfast at bk before going to swim... SOMEONE overslept~ pang seh kia... so i ate alone at bk while waiting for dearie to come...

went back his house after that cause the sun too strong for swimming le...

travelled to tamp again around 2 plus to swim... but for awhile only cause a lot things to do for the rest of the day...

headed to boon keng cause i had craving for the mee hoon kway there and dearie wanted to cut his hair there... =) craving satisfied! had bak kut teh as well... so yummy!

afterwhich we went back home to change and bathe cause we were dressed so sloppily... heez... i went city hall to collect my laptop from fujitsu service centre first... my laptop is finally fixed =)

met up with dearie again before heading to heeren for dinner with nana and yq... chosen vilage... love that place! quite cosy and the food is yummy...

after dinner, we walked to and fro orchard road trying to decide what to do... went to all the pool places but all were super crowded... in the end, we settled for le meridien... played pool there till about 1am... heez... fun!

it was a nice outing with them... nana gave me my belated birthday prezzie... a korean drama that i had been thinking of buying all along! thanks! really like the prezzie! read the letter too! haha... thankiez again~

went home after that and a day is over~

today stayed at home to install the various components of my laptop... now it's working normally just like the past! =) my good old trustworthy lappie... hehe...

had steamboat dinner with everyone in my family... parents, siblings, siblings-in-law... had the xin fu feeling during dinner... =)

school's starting tomorrow...

gotta go sleep already for i have morning lessons tml... =( nitey all~

went orchard to meet chingz darling... our 1st meet-up of the year 2007... hehe! so glad to see her... we went taka's mos burger to eat and talk... feeling the same again! =)

this coming april, we would had known each other for 10 years already! 10 years of friendship! =)

then we went to the taka basement to buy muah chee to eat! hehe...

walked to cine after that around 7 plus see got movie watch anotz...

watched spirit of the victim, thai horror movie... it was good! =)

walked to plaza sing after that cause i wanna go carrefour get sour plums! it's so nice! as nice as the dried mangoes! heez... i am gonna get lots of dried mangoes for the plane trip to bangkok...

abit worried about the trip cause there's a lot of bombing and political unrest over there now... hope everything will be peaceful again soon...

realized me and chingz darling forgot to take pics today... sad!

met up with dearie at raffle city shopping centre... and i saw zhanyi!

went to this jap restaurant called kuriya at the basement... food was damn nice! the ambience is good also! great dinner i shall say... and the only saving grace of the night haha...

walked to esplanade after that... kinda crowded but still not say very bad... started to rain so we sat on the slants under the bridge... butt pain cause very slanted... made dearie look at the prezzie i gave him... a photo scrapbook of our past 1 year as it's our 1 year anniversary once the fireworks start...

fireworks after that... can't see much... was at a wrong location cause can't be sure where they gonna light the fireworks this year... got blocked by walls can't see the low ones... so not much of excitement there...

phone screwed up... can't call or message... damn pissed!

went to marina square's xin wang restaurant to eat supper after fireworks... i tried their ham and cheese sandwich... wow! yummy! bread nice, cheese oozing out, succulent ham slice~ =) had egg tarts as well... so-so nia... got other dishes but lazy to mention them...

slacked there for awhile before walking to orchard area at 2 plus... heez... long walk~ passed by smu... reached the cathay... walked further down to try to find a pool place so can play pool... but can't decide between le meridien and cineleisure... was like walking to and fro... haha...

whole day in quite a bad mood cause i was coughing and sneezing away on top of a sore throat~

what a start to a new year! lolz...

went home bathe and slept till 1 plus in the afternoon...

did some reading up online about bangkok~ hee... consolidated a list out... hope nothing will go wrong with the planning!

went out around 6 plus in the evening to meet him at tamp... upon reaching, he tell me there not much people not happening enough so we went town... haha...

went kino and borders to try to find a particular map but can't find it... took photos at the taka christmas tree though christmas is like over 1 week ago...

went vilage at heeren for dinner after that...
