finally i got my ass down to blogging this entry haha...
Taiwan 3rd July 2010 - 11th July 2010
Travelling companions: Sis, Mum & Dad
Day 1 - 3rd July Saturday
preparing to board! took the 1030am flight
awful plane lunch =( the pasta sauce was a yucky mustard colour ewww...
touched down at taiwan taoyuan airport at 3 plus and when we saw the temperature display board, we had a shock! it was 38 degrees outside omg no joke... for the next few days it was that hot, got to know from my tw colleagues that there was an unusual heat wave for that few days...
we hired a private tour guide and van to drive us from the airport to our hotel and we totally did not regret it, the van was so comfy and spacious and the tour guide was super helpful and friendly! more pictures of the van and him later! we took a day trip with this tour guide to hualien on day 2 hehe
our hotel is futurestar which is located at the ximending area... thumbs up for the location, the mrt station exit is just a 2 mins walk, shiok! i loveee the convenience... checked in, took a short rest and headed downstairs in search for some food... settled for ah zong mee sua!
walked around after that to explore the area!
this ah mao is so cute hehe
snacks time!
and guess what we found:
50 lan! the parent company of koi... sis and i drank this everyday while we were there =p it is so much cheaper than sg's and more variety in terms of the tea and the things you can add inside... yummylicious~
we headed to our next stop at 7pm... SHIDA NM... this is my 2nd favourite NM after FENGJIA NM because here got a lot of nice shops selling pretty clothes!!! hehe =p
we need to transfer mrt at 1 of the interchange but we took the wrong direction... maximum fail haha
nice bakery shop along the way while we were walking to SHIDA NM... recommended on the forums... selling yummy freshly steamed mantou... we bought 2 to try, yam and brown sugar... they were huge!
we started to whack the shopping upon reaching the NM... and i was so excited when i found this shop:
tokyo mayuki fashion! i always buy their clothes through online sprees and now i have the entire shop in front of me hahaha!
it's time for dinner and we went to this place called 牛魔王 which was supposedly famous for its steaks but there was a long queue... we waited for around 30 mins outside and it was 38 degrees so ya almost gave up man... but i am glad we didn't cause the food was SOOO good... i would say it's one of my best meals in taiwan... and the steaks were the nicest i had ever tasted... so soft and tender omg *drools*
plus it's cheap! the set meals are only around SGD14 and come with salad, soup, bread, main course, dessert and drink... so bloody worth it for that kind of food standard yum yum...
tenderloin
t-bone
pork chop (for mummy who don't eat beef)
love the udon and the sunny side up on the hotplate... the black pepper sauce is fantastic too with the tender beef... hai i miss this place so much, if only they have it in singapore!
dessert
this is a must-go!
continued shopping after the nice dinner and we tried out some other famous local snacks at the NM but no photos except for the crepe below
Day 2 - 4th July Sunday
day trip to hualien! we woke up so early la, the tour guide came to pick us at 7am! but the view was awesome at hualien! and we get to sleep on the comfy minivan hehe so all is good...
we drove up the mountains and pacific ocean is just on our left whee so pretty!
at 清水断崖
taroko park! we visited this later in the afternoon as it was too hot when we reached in the morning...
