had a relatively good week this week as compared to the last 3 weeks... hee...
today had a nice surprise by one of my tuition kid... =)
went for tuition as usual and when i was about to leave, the mum asked me to wait first and asked her youngest son out (i m giving tuition to both her sons, one p6 and one sec 1) he came out and passed me a royce plastic bag saying it's for me...
i was still quite blur and asked him for what, he say for teacher's day... super surprised! cause i totally didn't expect a prezzie and i m just a tuition teacher not even a school teacher... another thing is i didn't even realize it's teacher's day tomorrow!
inside the plastic bag got a box of very nicely wrapped royce chocolates and a bag of famous amos cookies...
the mother then continued to explain that the chocs are from her and the cookies was bought by the son with his own saved up pocket money...
i roughly remember i asked the younger son before what's his pocket money per day and it was $1.50... now as we all know famous amos cookies are not say very cheap somemore with his amount of pocket money, i think he saved for quite some time la... i was SUPER touched by his action... it's the thought behind it and not the prezzie that makes me touched...
so ya... after that i thought though it may be tough to travel around from end to end of sg everyday just to give tuition, at least now i know someone appreciates it and it sort of makes everything worthwhile... at least the effort i put in had not gone to waste or unappreciated... and this appreciation just meant so much to me right now... it came at the right time just when i really felt like giving up... also gives me motivation to carry on and complete my job for the remaining 1 month or so...
for the coming month will be super busy as the PSLE is coming soon... hopefully, i will be able to survive and i will always remember this act by my student that changed my whole perspective~
