Day 3 - 28th Nov 2012 (Wednesday) @ Kaohsiung

i am very excited about day 3 as we are going cycling at cijin island!!!

here's our oftd

day 3 oftd!we are going cycling on cijin island! excited~

bf very grumpy cause i ask him take photo in the sun =p

grumpy cause i asked him to take photo in the sun hahaPhotobucket

went to buy a bag that i aimed the day before and had breakfast around our minsu area... we had noodles and glutinous rice, not super nice but we just need something to fill our stomach until we reach cijin island for seafood feast!

PhotobucketPhotobucket

taking the KMRT to Sizihwan station... we will be taking a ferry from the pier there to cijin island!

the weather was really nice that day, perfect for cycling!!! view from the ferry deck!

it was just a short 5 mins ferry ride before we reached cijin island... 1st stop was to seafood street for our lunch!!! saw a cute pufferfish that looked so dumb hehe

we then rented our bicycles and set off exploring the island!

next stop was to cijin lighthouse! we can see 85 tower, where our minsu is, from the lighthouse viewing deck

we continued our jump shot series here hahaha must make it a point to have jump shots at those picture-worthy spots

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

it started to get damn hot after all the jump shots haha... i was regretting wearing my leggings la! but when we cycled, the wind is quite cold which made it really ma fan, i have to keep alternating between wearing and removing my jacket. we cycled to cihou fort next. have to climb up a slope so we locked our bikes below and walked up by foot.

this gate apparently have a story (which i only read now from the photo hahaha)

starry tunnel next. i was looking forward to this cause it looked very pretty from the pictures but it was a disappointment in real life. supposed to see glow in the dark drawings but it was so faded in real life, can't even glow much :(

PhotobucketPhotobucket

at the end of starry tunnel is the sea!

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

fell down nearby this tunnel SIGHZ. there were some low kerbs around the area to prevent motorcycles from going in. i was trying to maneuver my bicycle over the kerb, missed my step and fell LOL totally cmi. i tripped over such a kerb in vietnam too 1 year ago. i hereby conclude me and kerbs don't mix. fortunately, i was still wearing my leggings (had thought of taking them off initially cause it was too stuffy) and that saved me from scrapes on my knee and legs. i got some very big ORH CEH on my knee, shin and hip instead haha... i think orh ceh better than open wound lor so thank goodness. but my elbows not so heng, scraped them but it was considered minor la. after the unfortunate mishap, we continued on to our last stop along the cijin cycling trail: windmill park! the park is further away and took us about 30 mins to reach there. my scraped elbow was stinging from the cold wind fml! pit stopped along the way at some rock

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

reached windmill park in time for sunset! the sunset was at around 5pm, so early lor! it's all dark by 6pm, so not used to it! but we didn't see much sunset that day cause it was too cloudy boo!

Photobucketwaiting for the sunsetwindmill parkPhotobucket

we tried self-timer jump shot but failed badly. end up look like vampire nia LOL

self-timer jump shot fail lolPhotobucket

couple shot

lazed around to wait for the sun to set

we chiong-ed back to the ferry terminal cause it was getting dark and night cycling will be dangerous since there are no street lights, bad for people like me lol. went back to minsu to bathe before we went to liu he night market!

liu he nm was disappointing~~~ there was only 1 street worth of food. compared to ruifeng nm (day 2 of kaohsiung), this is realy small la! but apparently, some stranger told us after we came back from liu he nm that it is the 2nd biggest nm in taiwan after shihlin. we were like sure anotzzz? i think we either missed out the rest of the streets or the stranger's information buay zhun haha... seriously only 1 street how can it be 2nd biggest nm in taiwan?!!

Photobucketdisappointing night market :(Photobucket

but there are still some very nice food at liu he nm hehe just that not as much stalls to choose from. this papaya milk is so good that we walked back for a 2nd cup!

the papaya milk is so nice that we walked back for a 2nd cup

we had 3 of these dorayaki cause they are so yummy!

damn good dorayaki!PhotobucketPhotobucket

seafood porridge (we only ate this cause we don't have much choices around =p)

seafood porridge

pai gu su (this soup is damn good! we even da bao-ed back to minsu for supper hehe)

yummy~~~

and the highlight of taiwan food for me: sweet potato balls! i love them omg, they are so chewy!!! QQ~ i must have them everyday lor if not will have withdrawal syndrome, can eat 2 packet at 1 go lol. how i wished sg have this too!!! the sweet potato balls at liu he nm are not as nice though, the other night markets have better ones (the one at taichung fengjia nm is the best!) =D

my fav sweet potato balls!!! i must have it everyday, why sg dont have?!!

bf have a thing for crab with roe so he was very attracted to this stall

Photobucketbf have something for crabs with roe

liu he nm is very near to kaohsiung's well known "wedding street". it is like singapore's tanjong pagar where all the bridal stores congregate together in 1 area. we took a walk along the wedding street and some wedding boutiques are so huge that they occupy 1 whole 4 storey building on their own. lavishly decorated somemore. i like the extravagant style hahaha

went back to our homestay around midnight to watch tv and have our pai gu su supper lol. fat die us. last night to use our jacuzzi, a bit sad cause this room is super comfy. haiyo it is highly recommended!!! super value for money for the kind of comfort we get. packed our luggage again as we are leaving kaohsiung for taichung the next day! taichung in next entry! one of my fav night market there, feng jia nm!
